September is a great month in Portland— the swifts are flying, the forest is full of chanterelles, and the rain is making it okay to hunker down for the upcoming winter. This is prime time for our seasonal fall menu switch, where we move from bright lemon and berry flavors into rich and spicy flavors, and, oh boy, are we ready to make this change.
On this fall menu we’re introducing a new Cinnamon Cream Cheese Coffeecake. This buttery coffeecake base is filled with a cinnamon spice cream cheese filling and toasted walnuts and is topped with a cinnamon maple glaze. We’re bringing back our moist Vegan Apple Bran Bar, which is a soy free applesauce bran cake is filled with apple chunks. It’s a celebration of the apple harvest! In the desserts department we’re making a new Vegan Pumpkin Chai Cupcake. A fluffy soy free pumpkin cupcake is filled with vegan chai pastry cream and topped with a caramel spice frosting. And the crowd favorite Pear Frangipane Tart Bars are also on this menu. These buttery almond frangipane filled treats are topped with soft and fruity poached pears and crunchy almond slices.
